Dear Host Family,
I'm Andrea, a 16 years old girl from Norway. I
love the ocean and all the activities around it
like swimming and boat trips. In the summer the
weather here is not too bad, maybe around 20 to 30
C when it's sunny. While in the winter it gets
really cold and it snows. My family got a cabin in
the mountain where we can go skiing. Me myself
love snowboarding. I may not be the best, but I
think it is a lot of fun and so do my family.
I also like to dance and I work in a clothing
store 2 to 3 times a week, but not more because it
is important to me to keep up with my homework
too. Even if I like having fun, I'm really serious
about school, and I want to get a good education.
I think it is important to have certain goals in
life and strive for what you want, but in the same
time have fun and enjoy life. I have a lot of good
mood and try to always think positive.
I live home with my parent and my two younger
sisters, Karoline who is 15 and Rikke who is 12.
We are an active family who enjoy spending time
together. We travel a lot and have done so much
fun throughout my childhood. Some years back we
had a boat and every summer we drove from Norway
to Sweden in it. One year we were 11 people in a
boat with only 4 beds. We literally lived on top
of each other, but that's one of the funniest and
best summer memories I have. Me and my family also
do many activities together like tennis, skiing
and golfing. We also spend a lot of time with
grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Family is
very important to me, and I love my family a lot.
My parents have always been there for me and
supported me and my sisters thru everything. I
also like spending time with my friends who also
is a big part of my life. We do a lot of fun
together and laugh all the time. I believe I'm an
extrovert person who just loves to be with people.
That's one of the reason I chose to be an exchange
student, because I get to know a lot of new people
and experience a whole new place.
The reason why I chose America is because I have
been there 2 times before and I immediately fell
in love with the country. The people there were so
kind, pleasant and welcoming. The big different
now will be that I will experience USA as a
citizen and not as a tourist this time. I will
live as the Americans do and learn and live in
their culture. I'm really looking forward to this!
Sincerely yours,
Andrea
