Dear Host Family,
I am a 16 years old girl from Norway that would
love to come and visit you in The States. I love
opportunities and challenges, so I think that to
live in USA, The land with the opportunities would
be just perfect for me!
I am a sporty and social girl that loves sports
and fun. At my school I am in an athletics class,
which is very fun. I also play and compete in
handball, a sport that I have enjoyed since the
age of 7. At the time I also teach young children
how to play. Handball is great fun, but I'm up for
new sports when I come to the states. Other sports
I like to do are for example volleyball and sea
sports in the summertime, and snowboarding and
skiing in the wintertime.
I live with my mom Brita, my dad Jrn and my big
sister Marte. I am sure that I'm going to miss
them very much. We live in a beautiful city. We
have great beaches and marinas. That's great, but
most of the year, it is too cold for the typical
summer activities. Anyway, it's lots of fun when
it is snow here as well.
At my spare time I love to hang out with my
friends and have fun. We like to for example go to
the beach, boating, watch movies, go snowboarding
etc. I care a lot about both my friends and
family, so I hope you will be a great host family,
so that I don't miss them too much.
This summer I went to Spain with a friend to take
Spanish classes, experience new things and get new
friends. It was so much fun and very educational.
The weather was really nice and warm, excellent
beaches, nice people and a new, exiting culture.
I stayed with a host family there as well,
together with two girls from Sweden, and my friend
Ingrid. By being there, I learned a lot, and
became more independent. It is clearly a memory
for life, just as I hope living with you is going
to be.
My preferred state of choice could be in the
Southern part of US, but the most important part
is that I can be a member of your family for a
year. A perfect day for me will be a picnic on a
beach, by a lake or a nice park with some friends
or my host family, filled with fun activities and
sports.
I am so excited to stay in The States for a year!
Especially I wonder how the school will be, and if
I'm going to get good friends. But most of all, I
wonder how you, my host family, are like! Where do
you live, what are you like, and whether or not we
are going to enjoy each others company. I for sure
hope we will!
When I live in the states I want to experience
many new things, cultures, sports and everything,
and off course I want to improve my English. I
will try my best to make it my best and most
educational year of my life so far, so thanks for
helping me!
Sincerely yours,
Maja
