Dear Host Family,
My name is Laura and I am a 15-year-old student
from Germany. I am very happy to have the
opportunity to spend some time in the USA and in
this letter I will tell you something about me and
my life.
I live in Germany.
I attend the 10'x' grade there. I stand up at 6
o'clock in the morning. I'm generally back home at
half past 1. My little sister Luisa is 12 years
old and she is in the 7"' grade. My mum Claudia,
who is 42 years old. My father Peter is 49 years
old.
Now some more information about me: I am honest,
friendly, optimistic, open-minded, organized,
eager and ambitious. But I am not perfect, I am
just a normal teenager. Some very important things
in my life are my friends, my hobbies, my family
and all the things I like. My friends and I always
have a lot of fun together and we often do
something together at the weekend. My hobbies are
tap-dancing, modern-dancing, playing the euphonium
and the clarinet and playing in an orchestra,
going amine-skating in summer and to go skiing in
winter but there are a lot of more things I like
to do.
At the weekends I have some free time to chat with
my friends, watching TV or just to relax. But I
also meet friends very otter to go to the movies
for example. Sometimes I have a dance or orchestra
performance which is always a lot of fun. I also
do something with my family sometimes, e.g. going
for a walk, meeting relatives, eating at a
restaurant or visit a bigger city.
In the summer holidays my family and I oaten
travel in another country.
At the moment I am very excited and happy to spend
some time abroad. I applied for the exchange
program because I would like to speak English
fluently and I also want to get more confident. I
am interested in the different way of life in the
USA (High School e.g.) and I hope I will do some
good experiences there.
It would be nice to make some new friends there
and to get involved in a family who lives on
another continent. Maybe I am able to give you an
idea of the life in Germany. I hope we have some
similar interests
