Dear Host Family,
I first would like to say something about me, my
life and friends; therefore I show you a normal
day in my life.
I get up at 6:30 a.m. in the morning. My dad
Michael and my mom Ellen get up a little earlier,
because my dad has to go working.
We have breakfast all together in our kitchen and
I often read the local paper. Our school normally
starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 1pm. In break
times I often play basketball, talk and have fun
with friends. I really love going to school,
because the most things you learn are so
interesting and helpful and you have a great time.
When I come home I have lunch with my mom and my
brother and do homework and sometimes I learn for
school.
I do a lot of sports, with friends and with my
family. For example I play Basketball in a team
for several years now. Most times I'm the point
guard in my team. It makes a lot of fun and we
have been very successful, but often it's very
straining and I'm very tired after the training. I
also play tennis in a team. It's a fantastic sport
in the summer time and I play with lots of
friends, my brother and in the evening with my
dad. I also go jogging with friends, play
volleyball, or sometimes to the cinema. I've got
pretty good relationships with a lot of my
friends. With close friends I really talk about
everything. They can talk about everything with me
and there's a big faith between us.
I'm a real family person. We do lot's of things
together especially at weekends. We do sports,
trips or just work together in our garden (cut
trees etc.) We sometimes just sit together near
our fireplace and talk or watch TV. I would enjoy
doing those kind of things with you, things
together like a real family. I play the piano for
7 years now. It's an awesome instrument and
sometimes I give small concerts for my family. I
have a perfect relationship either with my parents
or with my little brother and I'm proud of it! I'm
a guy who loves water sports, especially surfing
and swimming. I often go surfing together with my
dad. At the moment I'm being trained as a
lifeguard and it makes a lot of fun.
I really would like to be an exchange student in
the U.S., because I want to learn more about the
country and even more about the American people.
I'm also very excited to meet new people and to
make friends. I want to live the American way of
life! I would like to feel how it is to live like
an American, in school and together with American
people! I'm looking forward to laugh with you, to
have a wonderful time and to get to know people
for life! It would be fantastic if you could
support me as family in my time in America; if you
could support me with love, family, friends and a
home.
I would like to take part in your family life and
it would be nice if I could integrate myself; if I
could help you by lots of different things, could
go to the market and could help in the housework
or maybe in the garden.
It would be great if you could support me in the
starting time, because the daily life far away
from home is something really different to me.
I'm looking forward to a great time with you as
host family!
Sincerely yours,
Nils
